I would say if doesn't matter either way. Its not too formal there. Wear what is comfortable and cotton or linen would be my choice of material.

Aruba is very casual and very touristy. Many cruise ships stop there. You should wear whatever makes your trip more enjoyable.

Pack some of both. Women definitely get dressed for dinner, even in casual restaurants, and I think the guys should match. If you're going to a fancier place, a conservative polo shirt would be fine. Many men still wore shorts in the nicer restaurants, and I thought they looked strange next to a woman in an evening dress!

Aruba is not fancy or dressy!

Just my own editorial comment: Women unite! Don't let your men wear shorts to dinner! They do look incongruous sittting with a more nicely dressed woman, and nobody wants to see hairy legs at the dinner table! ;-)

You won't see them there unless you look below the tablecloth. LOL!

Thanks nickie! We just got back from our 4th trip to Aruba. When I wore a nicer dress, my husband wore pants and a dress shirt. I hate being mismatched (either way). In fact, I usually ask him what he's wearing before we go out for dinner even at home!
