Aruba and Curacao or just Aruba

Hi Everyone,

I need a quick bit of advice. My fiance and I are going to do our honeymoon 8 days on Aruba and 6 on Curacao(9/28-10/12), staying at the Marriotts on both islands. Do you reccommend both islands in one trip, or maybe just staying on Aruba for 10-12 days. We plan to just chill on the beach, snorkel, eat, and drink cocktails. Thanks for the help!

If you have 14 days I would give the lions share of that time to Aruba. For chilling on the beach Curacao is fine, actually ideal really. You can do that too in Aruba but there are attractions there should you choose to do something. Congratulations!

Definitely do both because they each have their own unique qualities.

I would recommend seeing both also since time permits. I'd also give the majority of time to Aruba. I stayed at the Marriott in Curacao and loved it. We split our time between the Hotel Kura Hulanda, the Marriott and Sunset Waters(avoid this place). The Marriott was by far our favorite, but I would recommend going to the Kura Hulanda and walking around and doing the Museum tour there.

Congrats and enjoy your honeymoon!

Thanks for the suggestions. I think we'll do 8nights on Aruba and 5 on Curacao. We can't wait!

Hi Newlywedsc,
Sure both islands are easy enough to see with 2 weeks, though I'd do 8 days on Curacao and 6 Aruba. If doing the Marriotts the one on Curacao is top to any on Aruba, Curacao is more populated but is less touristy than Aruba....a mighty plus. For off beat, very casual and excellent diving and snorkeling hop over to Bonaire. Enjoy and congrats.

I agree with Traveler 863. We visited Bonaire and Curacao on a cruise - would love to go back. C. has lots of charm. We have since been to Aruba and spent 7 nights. It isn't one of our favorite islands; pretty flat and arid. But a vacation is what you make of it :) If I were to return to that area, I would go to Aruba but spend more time in Curacao and definitely make a day trip to Bonaire. Just my opinion...Hope you have a great Honeymoon! eb :)

We are going to Aruba for the first time in February so we can't comment on it yet. To date, however, Curacao is our favorite Caribbean island. We voted it our number one vacation that we never wanted to end. You can do it all or nothing at all there. The Marriott in Curacao is heavenly! It's very charming, very tranquil and just a perfect retreat from the rest of the world. It's in a nice location and both the beach and the pool always seem uncrowded. It will be a vaction well spent for you.

How would you compare Grand Cayman with Curacao as far as beach, restaurants, activities? We were originally thinking of Grand Cayman staying at the Villas of th Galleon. However, perhaps the Marriott in Curacao would be better if you go with the bed & breakfast package. How was the food at that Marriott in Curacao? Looks like the per night cost at the Marriott is better than the villa. This is for a 5 day long weekend in early February so the rates are prime time.

Thanks in advance for your comments.
