Which Hotel??Marriott-Stellars casino or Radisson or Wyndham?? Also looking for a reputable snorkle company for a trip, would like to do on on a sail boat , and or motor boat. What great restaurants should I go to.

I stayed at the Radisson. It was heaven. The people were couteous and always helpful. The grounds are the newest rennovated on the strip (25million)The whole grounds are green and lush with a tropical atmosphere with about six talking parrots, and an open air lobby. You can easily acess taxis, so there is no need to rent a car.(there is a set rate, search it on Aruba's official site). The hotels have great restaurants:Japanese-Japengo(Hyatt), Italian-Tuscany (Marriott) and steak and seafood-Sunset Grille (Raddisson). If you like steak, El Gaucho is apparently a must on everyones list. When we arrived at the Radisson, they gave us $100 credit to our room which we used towards our dinner at Sunset Grille. All hotels on that strip are all equally beautiful (I don't know much about the Wyndam-my friends stayed at the Marriott and Hyatt on previous trips). It all depends on your preferences, but thumbs up for me and the Radisson.Enjoy, you'll have perfect weather everyday!

Hi Tilly
Check out the Aruba forum index. aruba-bb.com There are a lot of posts about all the hotels in Aruba. We are staying at the Marriott......hopefully it is nice! |
Traveling Sue,
How did you manage to get a $100 food credit at check-in? Any suggestions? I am going there in two weeks. thanks |
Click on my name, and you'll see several recent posts I've done about the Aruba hotels. Hope it helps. In short, between the ones you've listed, I'd go with Radisson or Marriott, both better than the Wyndham IMO.
Twin--on our last trip to the Radisson, they had a similar credit, I think we got a $150 credit towards food--it was just a promotion they were running when we booked. See if they are running it now, and then give them a call and see if you can still get it. |
Twin-The $100 credit was posted towards our room account towards any restuarant on the Radisson premise. It was a promotion. I saw it as a very nice gesture considering it was the first time we stayed at a Radisson. Even to this day we still remember this courteousy.
As Almesq said, call the hotel up and ask about the promotions they are currently running. Never be afraid to ask! |
Hi Tilly,
The Radisson is in a better location than the Marriott - you'll be able to walk to more places. The Marriott is beautiful however, the pool area chairs are so overcrowded you'll feel like a sardine. Avoid going to the "Tuscany" in the Marriott - so overpriced and the food is horrible. Try "Simply Fish" instead which is located right on the beach at the Marriott. It too is overpriced but you sit right on the beach with the ocean just a few feet in front of you - good food w/beautiful views. El Gaucho is hands down the best Argentine steak house on the Island. Also the best value. Don't bother with any others however, make reservations as soon as you arrive and try to go to an early dinner as it gets quite busy. If you want an indoor intimate, classy atmosphere Chez Matilde downtown for French food is excellent. Also, Ventanas del Mar at the golf course is excellent - overpriced but beautiful atmosphere as well - eat outside facing the pool. |
Tilly-I just received my January/February 2004 subscription to Islands Magazine. In the back, there was an advertisement for the Radisson/Aruba resort saying that if you stay between February 1, 2004 and April 23, 2004 they will issue you a $150 credit on Food and Beverage on your stay of 5 nights or more. Fore more info call 800-333-3333 or go to www.radisson.com/aruba.
