Are There Boogie Board-able Waves in Punta Cana? Thanks!

Good afternoon!

My husband and I will be heading to Punta Cana (Sivory) at the end of this month and are debating whether to take our boogie boards, which are somewhat of a pain to bring if we arent really going to use them.

On one hand, I read a post that someone was able to boogie board at Secrets (which from what I understand is nearby Sivory).

On the other hand, however, I read a post that the Sivory beach is protected by a reef-which I would guess limits the big waves from rolling in??

If anyone (eg: HowardC the Sivory pro, haha!) has input on the boogie board issue I thank you in advance!!

Enjoy this beautiful day!

:)

Most resorts offer boogie boards to borrow... Not sure about the Sivory, but where we're staying, they are advertising that boogie boards are available. Apparently, the water is quite calm and not very wavy. Check tripadvisor.com for more reviews of the hotel.

Thanks Christina79!

I didnt see boogie boards listed on the website (or in any of the reviews) but since it looks like they offer nearly everything else (snorkel, kayak, etc) I think we will just leave them at home!

Thanks again for the response and have a great day!

Hello!

Im updating this thread on the completely off chance that anyone will ever wonder this same thing before they head off to Sivory!

The update is:

No, the waves werent boogie board worthy!

I know youve all been waiting for that, haha!
