Are the green monkeys on Timothy Beach in St Kitts aggressive?
I'm looking into places to go on vacation with my husband and my 70 year old parents. I am looking into Puerto Rico but I'm also thinking about St Kitts. The Timothy Beach resort looks nice but I've read about monkeys that hang out there. Are there lots of them all over the beach and resort? My mom is not a nature girl and would not like animals coming up to her and getting really close to her. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Nope. They're pretty "skittish" and unlikely to come anywhere near to you. Like most critters, however, if you leave out food, unattended, they'll come over for a look...and a taste. Cheers, Richard.

Highly recommend St. Kitts and Timothy Beach Resort.

The monkeys are very entertaining and they won't bother you a bit! St. Kitts is a great place to vacation and it is nice to take the ferry over to Nevis for a different experience.

I have stayed at Timothy beach. The monkeys are actually quite shy - although I am sure if you left out some food, they would come and steal it.

I took the Nature Trail, which starts at the Golden Rock Estates on Nevis, and encountered Green Vervet monkeys each time I hiked. They were shy, but got used to me after a dozen hikes. I sat on a fallen tree and they, out of curiosity, watched me from above. Some would come down the trees and feed on fallen fruits, about 40 feet away from me. Some actually tossed some fruit at me from the tree tops. It was quite entertaining and I threw some back at them (gently). We literally had a "fruitball" fight. But, these were relatively wild. Some did crawl over the cyclone fence into the Golden Rock Estates in early morning, and take some of our foodstuffs off our patio. If they are accustomed to large numbers of tourists on the beach, and are hand fed, they will most likely approach you. They learn friendly environs real quick. Robert
