Anything Inexpensive?

Does anyone know of an inexpensive island to travel to for a week vacation. I've been told the Bahamas, although I found it to be very expensive this time of year ($1500 and above for 5 days). We don't want to spend any more than $1,000 a person; any suggestions?

I would suggest Punta Cana or Cancun. Try www.travelunlimited.com they always have different specials all over the Caribbean.

Isla Mujeres is the least expensive Island we have found. It is 10 miles off of CAncun. We spend 1 month a year there and as a result have created a 18 page brouchure on the island that is available upon request. Safe, small town, and great beaches.

<BR>Go to www.funjet.com <BR>If you happen to be near one of their gateways, you can get great deals, esp at the last minute. We've used them several times without a hitch, twice ending up on major carriers, once on a charter. <BR> <BR>Julio

Also, try www.tourscan.com <BR> <BR>A combination air/hotel package would be the best. Some islands such as Jamaica and Aruba and Puerto Rico can be reached directly from the mainland, and those are where you'll be able to stay under $1000, I think.

Check Apple Vacations last minute specials from a city near you. <BR>http://applevacations.com/jsp/specials/specials.jsp My wife and I have booked with this company through travel agents. Great company and great last minute deals.

I would suggest the vacationclub membership for a onetime fee of $1295 lifetime . Great benefits. That fee will take care of 2 persons.(about $650 per person). FREE disney world vacation included. FREE bahamas cruise and stay included. Let me now if you desire more info.

<BR>That sounds suspiciously like an ad for personal gain.

Ha! Suspicious? Naw, that's one of the great "come on down's" and you are obligated to sit thru the timeshare yaddie yaddie ... remember, nothing is "free!" &lt;yawn&gt; and if sounds too good to be true, it usually isn't!!

We did the Sunset Beach Resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica. I thought it was a good value, with air fare and all costs at this all-incusive resort, it came in under $100 per person per day. Is it fancy? No. Was it fun? Heck yeah. <BR>I am eager to go back. <BR>I am like you, if I am going broke, the vacation loses its appeal. E-mail me for more details
