Any info on the Marriott...Crystal Palace Casino?

I have never been to the Bahamas but have reservation with my husband and 14 yr old daughter for the first week of February. Would appreciate any helpful info on what to expect at this resort. Does it really not have a beach?

It has a little man made lagoon. The pool area is OK. No real beach to speak of. Try to go next door to the beach at the Radisson or the Nassau Beach Hotel.

We prefer the Radisson as the Marriott had no beach and we thought the restaurants at the Radisson were also a bit better.

Let me know what you think of this place as my family and I will be going 2/11. Always get worried right after booking a place!! But we thought it seemed like a great deal. Have fun and post your experience!!!!

Just returned from a trip with girls 14 and 18. Folks were very friendly. The beach area includes the adjoining beaches, so Marriott's lack of one really isn't an issue. Use the one next door if you're staying at the Marriott. The beach areas all run together without any fences and all are welcome.

For a trip into town, the busses ("number 10" in bold letters) run about every 3 minutes and cost a dollar now each way.
You flag them down like a taxi and they will go out of their way to pick you up, even going around the block to get back to you.

The rooms in the hotel are nothing to write home about, but more than good enough for me...

Have Fun!

I went to the Marriott Crystal Palace hotel about 5 years ago. I checked in to find the electricity was out because of a storm. I was taken to my room which was musty and leaking. I decided to have lunch by the pool and give the place a 2nd chance. No such luck - the food was gross and the pool was brown. I was devestated. I ended up grabbing a cab and searching for a new hotel. I did and promptly checked out of the Marriott the same day I checked in. That was the best decision I ever made. I have stayed at many Marriotts and have never had problems, so it was very disappointing to have to experience this. My trip was a few years ago so hopefully things have improved since then, but I would investigate or have a plan B.
