I am shocked by Steve's attitude. Has anyone else read his other posting on Harald's thread? He goes on to "politely" request that people debate without getting nasty yet on this post he's gettin' nasty and contradicting himself?! Secondly Steve, in my opinion, you sound like you're sitting at your computer with a thesaurus in hand trying to make yourself sound better than you are. Frankly, you sound ingenuine. Lastly, perhaps you should pick up a *CLUE* and spell VARADERO correctly....surprising seeing as you've been there SIX times!!!
Well Sign, sorry to have shocked you.

It has not been my intent to get nasty, but rather to make a point. Some other respondents seem to have concurred with the message, while unfortunately you have not. Oh well, as they say, opinions vary. I also have not contradicted myself.

And gee, gosh golly. I am so very sorry that I spelt Varadero incorrectly. Guess I am really stupid and a lousy typist to boot. Oh, and I do not use a thesaurus, but rather the vocabulary that I have. Guess I can thank Peter and Mary Funk. They publish a column called "It Pays to Enrich Your Word Power" every month in Reader's Digest. If you can't Talk-the-talk, then you sure can't Walk-the walk. While I am trying to learn some Spanish, you will have to excuse me if I am gramatically incorrect in that tongue.

As to my Cuban travels. Well I have indeed been to Cuba 6 times, but alas, to Varadero only once. My Cuban travels have also taken me to Cayo Largo, Isla de la Juventud (three times), and Havana. I have spend considerable time in Havana. It's my favourite Cuban destination.

Don't believe me, well for those doubting, check out this website.

www.picturetrail.com/photocuba

It is incomplete, but a project that Im working on.

Final Words.....

"Those that Matter don't Mind. Those that Mind, don't Matter.

Steve

Just to provide a little information. I've been going to Cuba for roughly 25 years...some for humanitarian reasons...some for vacation. Bottom line is that the vacation times are never planned over December or January because of the possibility of cool or rainy weather. I like it hot when it's my dollar and that's not a guarantee at that time. Go to Cuba a little later and really enjoy it!

Thanks to everyone who helped me with my dilema. I have decided to stick with JBR as I have read mainly positive things about it and Antigua is by all accounts a beautiful destination. Weather factored in heavily to my decision and though my husband has always wanted to visit Cuba I will consider it at another time of year (that is if I don't fall completely in love with Antigua as so many people seem to). One very last question for anyone who might know, where are the prettiest beaches in Antigua where the water is clear. While there I might explore going on a day pass to another resort but I'm not entirely sure which one would be my best bet. I was considering Pineapple Beach Resort on the East coast, any suggestions??

Dickenson Bay is a great spot. The beach and water is amazing! This is where Sandals is located. It is known to be one of the best beaches on the island. My and husband and I loved it and can't wait to go back. Enjoy!
