Antigua Shore Excursions
We are cruising on Royal Carribean this March and will spend one day docked in Antigua. Has anyone taken a shore excursion? Did you feel safe?
|
Been to Antigua once on a cruise and twice for a land vacation and have always felt safe. Antigua is a great place to go to the beach or take a catamaran trip around the island. You can easily go to the beach on your own, just hop a cab -- Dickensen Bay is a good one, not too far from the cruise dock and there are beach bars and facilities. We have also gone to Hawksbill Resort on a day pass but many other resorts have day passes as well. All beaches in Antigua are public.

You will be fine in Antigua. You can easily do your own beach day as there are many taxi drivers available as you leave the ship. St. John's main shopping area will be very very busy but okay.

We always just get a taxi and go to the beach. Then we do some shopping in town.

Thank you! I would much rather visit a beach than sit on a tour bus.

When we were in Antigua a few years ago and staying at a resort, we did the Bird Island tour with Wadadli Cats. It was a beautiful sail with great snorkeling and touring Bird Island was really nice.
