Antigua Hotel-vacation question.

We are a couple of seniors looking for a quiet holiday away from the snow. We are not sure if the Antigua resorts which have had endorsements would suit us. (Halcyon, Royal Antiguan) we're not much for partying, like quiet walks, game of bridge but we're not reclusive, just older. Any ideas please? Costs?

Have been to the Rex Halcyon twice this year. Loved it. Looking forward to going back in '98. Staff are next to none. It's quiet, but if you want to do anything just ask for suggestions. I highly recommend it.

We are in our late 40's and stayed at the Royal Antiguan for a week. Loved it. Great beach and excursions from there for snorkeling, etc. The food was good too. People friendly and had a great stay.

Rex Halcyon Cove - too large
Northing special buildings are haphazardly dispersed about the grounds.
Terrace restaurant has bad views.
4 bars and nightclub
U-shape pool and beach swamped with daytrippers
Wheezy air conditioners among the flaws

Royan Antiguan
Island's only highrise...a white elephant owned by government.

Facilities extensive..full casino, watersports along two stretches of beach, huge pool

Large railed balconies are appealing.
Management is enthusiastic these days and this hotel is happily grosing more consistent.
