Antigua, Hotel Recommendation, Day Trip Ideas
Will have the opportunity for a short visit to Antigua during an up coming weekend in July. Requesting reasonable accomodation recommendation for one or two nights and must see or do sites while I am there. May have rental car available.

Not many sights in Antigua, the main attraction are the numerous beautiful beaches - Shirley Heights and Nelsons Dockyard are worthwhile visiting and a day trip to Montserrat if interested in volcanos. To see Antigua from the sea, you can take a tour circumnavigating the island but that takes a day. Stingray City is great, best go in the morning before the stingrays have been fed all day and go to Long Bay for lunch or drinks.
Couple interesting streets in St John around Redcliffe Street where some buildings have been renovated and few bars/restaurants (eg Commissioner Grill) Hotels can be quite isolated except in Dickenson Bay which is not a very pretty area (lovely beach but outside the hotels the area is not attractive) however Siboney Beach Club would be a nice spot for a couple days and the restaurant is very good. |
Odin,
Thanks, for tips. Siboney Hotel looks nice. Seems like Dickenson Bay is the area to stay. Any boat/company you recommend for Stingray City? |
If you have a rental car you can drive out to Stingray city and take the excursion from there. The excursion is only operated by the one company.

Odin,
Thanks. Do you know how much is Stingray City? Could not find prices on website. |
USD50 each person and we only went last month. Our hotel tour desk booked it, we paid a deposit and paid the balance when we got there.
