Anniversary Dinner in St. John?

We had hoped to enjoy an anniversary dinner at Stone Terrace in St. John but learned it may be closed. Any suggestions for a romantic dinner with a nice view? We are staying at Caneel Bay but can take a taxi to and fro. Thanks.

When exactly will you be going? Different restaurants will be reopening at different times.

We have not stayed at Caneel, but our most memorable meal was at Caneel at the outdoor stone and tile gazebo (the Equator ?)
A great menu, open air and looking over the twinkling lights of STT.

I just checked on St. John Spice's website, they've been keeping an unofficial list of restaurant closings/reopenings and Stone Terrace should be reopening October 1. Also, Asolare which has a fantastic view, very romantic setting, and occasionally great food (mostly just very good food) is open. We went there for our 10th anniversary and it was just gorgeous. The ambience can't be beat. The food at the time was excellent, and it was also off-season so maybe the kitchen had the luxury of time to be very careful with each dish. It's also just down the road from Caneel.

I would also recommend the Equator restaurant at Caneel. If you are already staying there it would be very convenient. I find the view of St. Thomas very romantic. Also after dinner you should take a walk by the Turtle Bay Estate house restaurant. If you are facing the restaurant, to the left of the restaurant there is a grassy area where you can walk to near the edge of a small cliff. There is a bench right there (I believe they hold weddings there) and you can sit and look at the gorgeous views of the BVIs. -Susan
