ANGUILLA
My wife and I are in the beginning phase of planning
a trip to Anguilla. Can anybody recommend a place to stay? We DON'T want to stay in a hotel or at a
resort but prefer a private villa or apartment.
Also, is Anguilla even worth the trip?
Thanks for your help.

Hi: I leave the 20th for Anguilla am staying at a "small Resort" more of an apartment complex called the Allamanda Beach Hotel. It is suppose to be quite nice and quite affordable. Shoal Bay Villas are also suppose to be a very good value. I will post a response when I return. If you like gorgeous beaches, great snorkeling and excellent restaurants with no crime (not much shopping or nightlife) Anguilla is suppose to be wonderful Email me if you like !!

We were in Anguilla in April, and YES it is worth the trip. The beaches were beautiful, the people wonderful, but compared to other places we have been in the Caribbean, we found the snorkelling below par. Actually, we have been there twice and both times the snorkelling wasn't that great.
It is a very safe island to visit and you will have no trouble getting around. Rent a vehicle and explore.
We stayed at the Anguilla Great House and it was small and very nice. I would stay there again. It wasn't overrun with people and was on one of the nicest beaches on the island.

Anguilla is one of my favorite caribbean islands. We stay at Carimar Beach Club on Meads Bay. It is a
23 unit 2 story apartment complex with one and two bedroom units available on the beach. Each unit has equipped kitchen, dining area, living room and porch. We usually go around the end of May and there is hardly anyone on the beach. Most all of the restaurants are open at that time and there are many to choose from. Anguilla is very safe and friendly.

We went to Anquilla about 4 years ago and stayed at
the Shoal Bay Villas. I'd stay there again.
Nice cute reef right off the beach, most
beautiful beach, good restaurant by the water,
and a beach bar down a ways. Quiet and condos -
only 2 stories and not that many of them. No
air conditioning so get a second story beachfront.
Snorkle at Little Bay - great! Wish I were going.
