Anguilla OR St Maarten
 

I would like opinions on these two Islands. This trip is next spring break and we are a family of 3 teenages, their partents and the grandparents. Requirements are a 3 or 4 bedroom house that is not in large town, warm weather, beaches, stuff for the kids to do, some restaurants around. Has to require a passport to get in the country.

Started with Mexico, Costa Rica, Belize, or St Maarten. We're heavely leaning toward Anguella or St Maarten.

If you have teens, I would suggest St Maarten.
There is much more for them to do on St. Maarten. Anguilla is quieter, with beautiful beaches and some nice restaurants but not much night life.
Anguilla would definitely be great for you as a day trip though.

I have to agree with Barbara1 - Anguilla is all about beaches (35 to choose from) and restaurants (80*). If you will be content spending your days walking on the beach, reading on the beach, having a drink on the beach and swimming by the beach interspearsed by dinning at some of the best restaurants in the Caribbean then Anguilla will be perfect for you.

If on the other hand you want a destination with plenty of activities for the teenagers in your party you'd be better served going to St. Martin - plenty of restaurants, all types of watersports and activities for the teenagers.

There are scores of rental villas on St. Martin to will fit your requirements. Do a google seach for "Rental Villas, St. Martin" and you'll find links to scores of villa rental agents - most have lots of photos, complete descriptions, etc. For starters check of the rentals available through www.wimco.com We've used them several times in the past and have always been well pleased.

The beauty of those 2 islands is that they are a 20 minute ferry ride from each other.

If you're having a tough time choosing, why not split the trip?

We only have a week so we want to move in and stay. But it looks like it would be easy to day trip to Anguila
