We have finally decided on going to Allegro in Turk&Caicos given our options and all the great advice we have received here. Just wondering if anyone has stayed here recently. Any advice and specifically is it worth it to pay for the room upgrade to an ocean or beach front room? Thanks again!

Yes!!! Beautiful sunsets and beautiful water. Great Island!!!

I stayed at Allegro in July, 2000. I had considered upgrading, but didn't and was perfectly content with my standard room. The beach is not more than a few steps from most of the rooms and the sunsets are lovely from the grounds. Besides, we didn't spend much time in the room. If you do upgrade, get a room that is right on the beach (some rooms have side views-those would not be worth it IMO).

I havent been to that hotel nor even those islands but i have been through the carribean and south pacific. If i am going to take a vacation to an island resort with beaches, you bet im going to take a room which exploits those views. YES YES YES upgrade and enjoy the tranquility that it will bring you

my boyfriend and i stayed at the allegro last march. the island is beautiful. the beach is among the nicest i have ever seen. we had a partial ocean view room - it was very comfortable. i doubt you will spend too much time there. i would use the money to go on an excursion instead. have fun
