All-Inclusives with golf
 

Looking for recommendations for a reasonbly-priced December 2002 trip. My husband and I only do all-inclusives, and only resorts with golf included. Any suggestions?? We've enjoyed several Sandals resorts, but I'm ready to try something new. We don't need nightlife, just clean rooms, great beach, good food. And we have no children, so we always choose adults-only resorts. Thanks!!

My husband is an avid golfer so we are pretty familiar with golf resorts in the Caribbean. Other than Sandals, I can't think of one resort that has golf included. Perhaps the Grand Lidos in Jamaica? The Ritz-Carlton in Jamaica has an inclusive plan, but you only get a $100 credit toward golf/spa per day, the golf is not completely included. Wait, I just thought of one -- Casa De Campo in Dominican Republic has an option to include golf in your package.

Half Moon in Jamaica has an excellent golf course and should have few children if any depending on what time of year you go.<BR><BR>Casa De Campo is a good choice as well. There are many resorts in Puerto Rico that are known for its courses but are not strictly adults only.

As Penney said, Casa de Campo in the DR is a good choice for golf, but I'm not sure if it's AI or adults only. <BR>This is just my opinion, but you might want to look for an island that has a really great course and stay at an AI on that island. I haven't seen that AI's are usually connected with the better courses. <BR>Dominican Republic or Puerto Rico would be less pricey than some of the other choices.

Thanks to all! I've actually been to both Half Moon and Casa de Campo, and both are fabulous resorts. Both are pretty pricey, too, unfortunately... A week at Half Moon on the AI plan is about twice what a week at Sandals costs.<BR>But keep those suggestions coming, please!!

Swept Away is a great resort and offers golf as part of the AI package at the Negril Hills Golf Club. Green Fees and transfers to the club are included. I did not play the golf course - but have heard it is fine. It has the regular amenities - clubhouse, pro shop, driving range. It is challenging enough for the average player.<BR><BR>Swept Away is a beautiful facility.<BR>

Be wary of Barcelo Bavaro Golf Resort. We stayed at the beach and garden and didn't gold, but other who stayed at the golf were frustrated with how unorganized things were. You couldn't book tee off times until the morning before, and often people couldn't get a time! Golf fees were included of course, but not carts. A lot of people that were on vacation just to golf were not pleased with the service there.

Tierra Del Sol in Aruba includes golf when you stay at one of there homes or villa's. Its not AI tho. Superb golf and accomondations and usually can get a rent a car for your stay.

Have you tried Breezes Runaway Bay by Superclubs. It is known as a golf resort even if it is a notch below Sandals and more of a moderate level resort.

Also on the list of top twenty Caribbean golf courses: Tryall Club offers all-inclusive golf packages. Check out http://www.tryallclub.com/rates.htm. May be somewhat pricey destination for a couple (worth every penny IMHO) but deals can be had off-season. Peak rates only kick-in late December so deals can be had earlier in the month
