All inclusives in Caribbean

Hello, during the past few years, I have been to several different all inclusives - first was to Cabos at Pueblo Bonito Pacifico - loved it, but as it is a long day to get there from Phila - must change in Dallas or Houston and missed the flight there, so had to stay overnight at airport in Texas. Next to Jamaica to Grand Palladium - big step down after Cabos; food and drink only fair! Last year to St. Maarten to Riu Palace - again a step down from Cabos, food good, but drinks not so good. I am looking for a new all inclusive and have heard that I should look at Barbados and Aruba! Does anyone have any suggestions?

Many thanks.

Sophia

Not sure who you "heard" from, but Barbados and Aruba are not known for their All Inclusives.

You best bet for AI resorts is Mexico, Dominican Republic, and Jamaica. Yes there are AIs on the other islands, but the places above will have the most choices and varieties of resorts to pick from.

There are many more All Inclusives in Mexico. I would stick with that and just research for a more high-end property.

Look into some luxury adults only resorts in the Riviera Maya area of Mexico.
Check out Iberostar Paraiso Grand. Top of the line luxury, fantastic service, good food, huge beach, great pools, good spa, etc.
Also look into The Royal Hideaway in Playacar. Another luxury resort with fantastic service and good food. It is more quiet.
You don't say if you need activities and night life right at the resort.

We typically don't like AI but have done a couple after much research. We did a girls trip (with 7 picky ladies) to Secrets Maroma (one hour from Cancun) and we were all very happy with the resort as well as the fine dining restaurants. The service was excellent and it sits on a gorgeous beach. Tons of activities such as Yoga etc to choose from included in the price. I think its very reasonably priced for what it offers. Very highly rated on TA.

Agree with above, stick with Jamaica and Cancun, just better properties (it's not about the island but the resort), In Cancun we had a great time in Secrets Maroma twice, Royal Hideaway had very good food. I heard very good things about Le Blanc (going in Feb), Next month we are going to Couples Swept Away in Negril for our 10th trip so that should tell you something
