All-inclusive Resorts--size
 

Are all the resorts so big that they provide a tram service to get around? We are booking through FunJet and it seems that most of the resorts they feature are huge. Thanks!

Depend on where you go. We stayed at the Radisson Cable Beach in the Bahamas about 4 years ago and it was not a huge, mega resort. The food was pretty good- you order off the menu at any of the resort's restaurants. Because the resort charges extra for the all inclusive (guests can opt for room only), I find the service to be a bit better and the food tastier. Last year we went to Beaches Turks and Caicos. It is a huge resort, completely all-inclusive with mediocre food and service.

No not all all-inclusives are that large. It depends on where you are looking. Your travel agent can tell you the size of the hotels. Could be Funjet only has options with the large chains.

Depends on where you go. Some of our favorite all-inclusives are smaller properties and easy to get about.

Mandy: I have just returned from the Viva Azteca resort in Playa del Carmen,(one hour south of Cancun, Mexico), with my wife and 12 year old daughter. This property is inside the Playacar developement along with other AI's, private homes, and Condos, just outside of Playa del Carmen. The Playacar area is a private, gated area with brick-paved streets, a small shopping mall, and a golf course in the center. The Viva Azteca has under 250 rooms, and is set up in away that you're not too far from anything in the Resort. You also have exchange privilages with the Viva Maya, a little larger resort about four resorts down the beach. The beach and ocean were outstanding at this resort, the staff was great, and the buffets were always quite varied.We booked this property with Apple vacations.You may email me if you'd like more info. on this resort.<BR>
