All-inclusive resorts?
 

Last May we went to Cozumel. For the first time we stayed at an all-inclusive resort and fell in love with the concept. Looking to travel again this spring.

We do not think we will go back to Cozumel because of hurricane damage. We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and high level of service. We are looking for beach-front resorts with a wide variety of amenities and good food. (Mid-level costs.)

Melia Cozumel worked well for us. Where would you suggest we head to next?

You don't say if you are bringing children. Any of the Secrets resorts (they are adults only) would fit your needs. We were at Secrets Excellence in Punta Cana and loved it. From what I've read and heard, Secrets Excellence in Riviera Maya and Secrets Capri (also in RM) are even better.

We are a couple/ late 20s and do not have children.
Looking for a relaxed time with an option for a couple of excursions (Jeep trips, dive) and perhaps local shops.

If you want the flexibility and value of an all-inclusive, but want something a bit nicer than the average you may want to try the Marriott in Aruba, Cancun (not sure if it is open), or St Kitts. I know that all offer an all-inclusive program you can purchase at the hotel. You need to call the hotel directly to inquire about the rate. For most there was a 3 day minimum and a few exclusions (like the lobby cafes). Otherwise all food & drinks are included. I hope this helps

My wife and I really liked Breezes in Curacao. It is not a wild or real lively resort but everything was just fine and the price was quite reasonable. You can get around the island very easily and the island was very safe.

WE tried our first AI 2 years ago at Sandals in ST. Lucia. We stayed at the more luxurious one but I understand there is another one there that is less expensive. Beach is beautiful, and the island is equally interesting to explore. There are also other AI on the island that are great, but Sandals is the only one we stayed at.

Also consider Antigua. WE have been there but we stayed at The Hawksbill which has a magnificent location and gorgeous beaches but primarily caters to older guests. There are many other AI on this island also worth your exploring some of the possibilities

If you liked Melia's style then I would suggest Paradisus Punta Cana, who are also a poart of the Sol Melia family. Wonderful resort with the best bech I've evern been on. We ahve done many AI and I have to say Paradisus does it the best.
