All Inclusive-Grand Cayman
 

Spanish Bay Reef; Holiday Inn Grand Cayman or Beach Club Colony? I need to know if anyone has stayed at these properties they are all - inclusive and wondered also about the food as well.

I too have been looking at these properties and here is what I have discovered -

Spanish Bay Reef is very far north and apparently does not have a beach. It is pretty much set up for divers and is relatively distant from town. It has some share privileges with Beach Club Colony but I don't know how you get back and forth between the properties.

Beach Club Colony is on 7 Mile Beach. Is reportedly less than impressive on first sight [not as luxurious in the lobby as some people expected (?)] but once inside these same people liked it. Again based on my digging for info on other websites, this place does rent their beach to some cruise lines, but the posters who had stayed there did not find that too bad overall. Apparently the cruisers are gone by 2 PM, and the hotel still maintains a "guest-only" area on the beach and in the lunch buffet.

I got my information from www.tripadvisor.com and also from a couple of the Grand Cayman tourist info sites - just type Grand Cayman into Google and see what you get. I am thinking about trying the Beach Club Colony this fall or maybe next spring.

tigerhawk-i'm just trying to find a condo and i have no clue where to find the right one? i don't want a place where there's rocks or is not nice. I want a price from 150.--185.00per nite that's beachy and modern and a/c and quietish---am i asking too much?

Claire - to answer your question. The places I marked on my map (I went up and down the beach and marked props with good beaches) are:

Commonwealth
Victoria House
Anchorage
Christopher Columbus

This is not an exhaustive list by any means. I would highly recommend that you ASK the prop what the beach directly outside looks like. They will not lie to you. Ask if it has rocks or not.

pcircles--thank you for replying because it isn't fair for someone to get to this island that people save money to go to only to find "rocks" where they wish sand would've been.

Your price range is a bit low, but you might be able to find something. I wouldn't count on a beachfront condo though....maybe a garden view?

Also, I can't imagine going All-inclusive on Grand Cayman as the dining choices are endless, and some of the best restaurants you'll ever experience. It would be a shame to miss out on this.

You will find most of the resorts listed here, along with info, pricing, pictures, beach ratings, and also a map showing where each is located. The further north on 7MB you go, the more remote. All depends on what you are looking for. If you go in the off season, you may luck out in your price range...especially with tourism down. I'm sure there are specials to be found.
