All inclusive

I'm looking to plan a girls trip to the Caribbean in late feb. or march, where literally all we do is lay on the beach (and drink!) What are some of the best islands to go to that offer all inclusive and are pretty easy to get to from NYC (no or very few connecting flights!)

you might enjoy the wyndham sugar bay resort on st. thomas. they have a nice beach with snorkeling right off the beach. the pool area is directly behind the beach and offers a full bar, snack/burger kiosk and full sit down restaurant - perfect for lay on the beach and drink days. lots of tours available to the bvi's if you want to go see some stuff. also this is a duty free shopping island.

jamaica, dominican republic and mexico south of cancun have most of the all-inclusives. dom rep has the best deals - some do not considser this the safest island to visit but if you are staying on the resort property a/or are happy taking excursions offered by the resort (as opposed to striking off by yourself in a rental car) you will be fine.
mexico has tons of ai's and offers more things to do than one could possibly do in a week. zip-lines, cenotes/caves, diving/snorkeling, ruins, fun shopping, etc.
i've never been on jamaica and don't know much about it - but it does have a rep as a Fun place to play/party. large island and offers plenty to go do.

The wyndham sugar bay resort on st. thomas looks great, has anyone ever stayed there? Anything I need to know before hand?

We've been to the Wyndham Sugar Bay and didn't much care for it. You'll have to pay the higher rates to get a good room, the hotel is very spread out so lots of walking, the 99 steps to the beach, pool, bar and buffet was a pain. The beach area is small and not that great for swimming. It's very rocky, so the snorkeling was good. We didn't care for St. Thomas in general either.

I agree with Mexico. Look at Isla Mujeres. A small Island off of Cancun. We've been thinking about the Avalon Reef Club. Also, Cozumel. For our honeymoon that's what we told our TA (lay on the beach and drink) and she sent us there. Our favorite Island to date.

Palm Beach on Aruba is great for just beach sitting, but the connections might not be what you are looking for.

We've stayed at Wyndham Sugar Bay and liked it. Nice tropical gardens on the property. We had a great room and didn't pay extra for it, although we did sign up for their loyalty program. You can do the steps if you want the excercise, but there is a shuttle that goes up and down all the time. The beach area is smaller, but it's private in that there is no adjoining beach property. The bar down by the pool offers top shelf alcohol and inventive drinks. The service at poolside includes fruit skewers, popsicles asnd water sprays. There is also a place right next to the pool that does grilled items. There are two other restaurants. The one up the hill has charming servers and bartenders at the bar next to it. Overall, St Thomas has a nice atmosphere on the east side of the island, although it's not tropical like Jamaica, for instance.
