Ajili Mojili restaurant, La Casona restaurant and Lemongrass restaurant

I was able to get a reservation for 6 of us for this Sunday evening. I've read conflicting reviews of this restaurant (Ajili Mojili). We want something very nice with typical foods of Puerto Rico. I'm a little concerned as I've read about extremely long waiting times and mediocre food.

Can anyone give me any updates about this restaurant.

We also are considering reservations at the other 2 mentioned. Can anyone comment on La Casona or Lemongrass?

We leave on Sat., July 19.

Thanks,

Lois

I've only eaten at Ajili Mojili, and I found the food to be quite good there but also profoundly expensive and even overpriced for what you get. But it's a great restaurant. I haven't had serious service problems there in any of my visits, but I've read that some people have. Still, all service in Puerto Rico is slow, so just keep that in mind.

I have eaten at Ajili Mojili several times over the years. The food has always been good. The service has varied. The restaurant itself has a very nice atmosphere. It is a little pricey but I wouldn't go so far as Doug by saying it is profoundly expensive. You can check out their menu (with prices) on their website. One thing not on the menu but which you can order are the pumpkin fritters with the Ajili Mojili dipping sauce. They are so tasty. You'll see that the entrees run from about $16 to $39.

Please consider Pamela's Restaurant while in San Juan. It is a lovely outdoor setting right on the beach..your toes are in the sand! Delicious seafood and steaks as well. It is a bit hard to find, as it is located within a gated community, but well worth it!

was at La Casona in March 2008 and found it to be a great rest. away from the condado strip (you will have to cab it there if you don't have a rental). Very attentive and our selections were very good.

Thanks everyone.

I've heard of Pamela's -- where is it (a hotel?) and what type of food?

It is located at a cute, little, boutique style property called Numero Uno Guest House. Go to their website at Numero1guesthouse.com for more info. You won't regret it!
