Is anyone familiar with either the Meridian Inn or Southern Surf beach apartment's. I am a student looking for affodable, comfortable accommodation in Barbados. Do you have any recommendations?

You may want to post your question directly to Lois' attention. She has the best (and up to date) Barbados info. I have been to Barbados, but unfortunately am unfamiliar with both of those accommodations. Wish I could help. Welcome, officially, to fodors!
