Accomodation in Grenada & Bequia

I plan on a 4 week stay in Grenada and Bequia in January. I would like to know of any inexpensive accomodations(but clean & quiet) on Grand Anse Beach & Morne Rouge Bay. Also any observations, impressions and opinions on Bequia would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot.

I would suggest you visit grenadaexplorer.com for some very good and current advice on Grenada. I am sure the posters there can also offer some advice regarding Bequia.

I am visiting Bequia ten days from now, for about 10 days. I will post something when I get back.

On Bequia, consider the Blue Tropic Hotel on Friendship Bay (about $65+US per night during the season). If that is not budget enough, then the Low Bay Guest House just up the lane from a beautiful beach has rooms at about half that price, but they are very small. Ultra budget prices can be found at the Travellers Inn in Port Elizabeth, but this is a town so not the quietest of locations.

Be warned that on Bequia, barking dogs and crowing roosters, and the occasional jump-up, are part of the normal noise ambience. So I always take earplugs just in case.

Bequia is a pocket-sized island with great hiking to deserted beaches, friendly and interesting people and cheap eats, if you stay away from the posh restos. My favourite island.

Also visit www.bequia.net for a good comprehensive listing of Bequia accommodation options (apartments, villas, hotels) and other useful links.
