Looking for suggestions on Caribbean destinations with either villas or private rooms with their own plunge pools. Really looking for tranquility and privacy. Not looking for $1500+ per night but will consider all options. Any suggestions?

Of places that I've personally experienced, the Horned Dorset Primavera (Rincon, PR) and Ottley's Plantation (St. Kitts) have private plunge pools. Both properties are exquisite (though different from each other) and very private and tranquil -- as well as being less than $1500 a night!

The Horned Dorset is on an OK beach on the west coast of Puerto Rico; it's about a 2-hour drive from the San Juan airport, and is located in a surfing/beach town. Ottley's, on the other hand, is on the grounds of a former sugar plantation up in lush hills of the island.

We fell in love with the Jamaica Inn. We had a gorgeous, very private cottage on a bluff surrounded by lush foliage, outdoor shower and a magnificent plunge pool. We are returning this summer!

Another place that had a gorgeous plunge pool that we enjoyed was at Hermitage Bay Hotel in Antigua. Set up into the cliffs with an expansive outdoor setting, also with an outdoor shower. Complete privacy would require you though to be at the very top.

TiKaye in St Lucia is in a beautiful location, quite remote, very tranquil.
