6 days in San Juan

Hi, DH, DD & myself are leaving on Tuesday for a 6 night trip to San Juan - our 2nd trip there. Two years ago we were there for 4 days.We had originally planned to take a side trip for a couple of days to another island like St Croix or St Thomas but are probably not going to do that now since I an trying to save our vacation dollars for our trip to France in May! We have a condo at the Rio Mar Wyndham for all 6 days. This will probably be a more laid-back vacation which is a novelty for us!
Just getting out of the Boston cold should be enough but looking for suggestions on what we can do besides laze on the beach. We plan to visit the biobay in Fajardo, (does anyone think it is worth staying in Vieques overnight to see it there?) We loved Flamenco beach in Culebra the last time so will probably make a day trip again. What else is there to see/do? DD would love to do the zipline but it is quite far, has anyone done that? Any opinions? Any specific scenic areas we should not miss? (Visited the rainforest last time)
Would also like to get recommendations for medium priced restaurants in the area we are staying in or San Juan.
Thanks all!

WE are also looking at San Juan for 4-6 nights in June. Can we get to Culebra for a day trip? It looked like a long way to go.

Hi I can't answer your questions but I am looking forward to the answers you get, as my family is headed there in April... we are going to Vieques Island for most of our time there. But is the rainforest worth doing (we have 2 small children)? And where is the zipline?

Thanks!
Karen

Hi amurnin, you can take the ferry to Culebra in the morning & the ferry back in the evening but apparently you have to be there really early to line up for tickets. We chose to fly from Cieba to Culebra on a local airline, I believe it was Air Flamenco. It was about $30 per person, & we took the ferry back in the evening & then a cab back to the airport where we had left our car. Wasn't too far. It was a very easy, doable day trip & the beach was amazing. Definitely something I would not want to miss!
The rainforest might be hard with 2 small kids but others may be able to provide more information. The website for the zipline tours I found is http://bateydelcemi.com/ but there are several adventure tours listed on tripadvisor that include ziplines.
Still looking for information, anyone???

Lots to see in Puerto Rico...and surely you will enjoy the tropical weather. We've seen quite a bit of the island on two occasions. Glad to recommend depending on interests. We are an older couple so not into tanning on beaches which is one possiblity. Nor night life. Nor zipline, but El Yunque is wonderful.

Thank you all, WhereAreWe, thanks for providing that thread, it had several good suggestions so we should be all set. Will report back on our return. BTW, does anyone know of any supermarkets on the way from the airport to the Wyndham Rio Mar?

I would love to know about your trip! We are looking at traveling to PR in July with our 3 children. First big trip for the kids. I was concerned about the safety of the island. Any tips or advice would be very appreciated! Also, looking at renting a car. Have seen some advise to do it and some against it. Someone help me here! Please!! Thanks so much!
