5 hour layover

OK I have this huge layover (5 hr) in San Juan. Any suggestions on what to do? Is this enough time for me to head to Old Town and looks around?
I'm traveling by myself so not looking forward to 5 hours sitting in a airport.
SUGGESTIONS?

The airport is about 8 miles from San Juan. You could easily catch a cab and in 20 minutes tour Old San Juan. You could spend 3 hours there, take a taxi back and be at the boarding gate an hour before the departure. Just a thought. Robert

The taxi ride to OSJ can take anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes depending on traffic so you would have more than 3 hours totur OSJ.
The taxi ride will cost $16 each way.

Remember, Coop, you have to be back at the airport at least one hour before take-off. Give yourself time. Robert

thanks everyone for your reply. Sounds like it's old town for me, at least for a couple of hours.

If you are coming back from an island/country outside the US and have to go through customs, I would allot one-two hours to clear this process depending on day of travel and time of travel which may cut into your sightseeing time.
