5 day trip to San Juan - Rio Mar suggestions

Hi, we are leaving Tuesday for San Juan & will be staying at a condo in the Wyndham Rio Mar. Have been looking through the forums & cannot find much information about restaurants in the area. Would rather not eat at the Wyndham since the restaurants there are supposedly quite pricey. Any suggestions for local restaurants for dinner? Also for a lunch place near the airport when we land? Something with a view would be preferred.

We have planned one day at the El Yonque rain forest/Luquillo Beach & one day in old San Juan. Do you think we should also do a day trip to Culebra? We are beach people, would love to spend a day at the best beach in the area but not sure which one that would be!
I presume we would have to rent a car there if we do go to Culebra? Or should we just get a taxi to drop us off on Playa Flamenco? How much should that cost?

Still trying to decide if we should do the bio-bay in Fajardo. Any itinerary suggestions would be great. I know this is last minute, I usually plan way ahead but any help would be really appreciated!

There are a few restaurants that will pick you up from the Wyndham. RITCHIE's is one of them. It's got pretty good food, ( although not cheap) and a very nice view, since it's perched on a hill. HACIENDA is another restaurant that offers a free shuttle, but we didn't go there during our recent visit. The concierge at The Wyndham can make arrangements for you.

Some of the best food in the area is at the kiosks in Loquillo, a short drive from the hotel down Rte. 3. We liked #2, LA PARILLA, which has wonderful seafood, steaks, salad, and soups. But be prepared to wait both in line ( even with a reservation) and once you get seated.

Also try EL JEFE for great hamburgers and shakes. Can't remember what # kiosk it is.

A note of warning: The kiosks are pretty busy both at lunch and dinner, although hours vary, so definitely call ahead for opening and closing days/times. And, more importantly, they are in a so-so area of town, so don't wander around after dinner or by yourself. We've never had anything happen there ( have stayed at The Wyndham twice), but just be aware of your surroundings.

Definitely do the bio bay tour! It was our favorite activity of our whole time in Puerto Rico. It's pretty cool to kayak at night in the first place, but watching that water light up is incredible! More info and pics from our trip in our Puerto Rico post at http://patrinadoestheglobe.blogspot.com/
