4 Seasons or the Ritz Carlton

Which is the best Four Seasons in Nevis or the Ritz in St Thomas, going the end of July

Lawry:

Does the actual island make any difference to you?? Nevis and St. Thomas are both very different. I suppose if you are going to stay at the resort and not go anywhere, the island wouldn't matter.

The Four Seasons is the nicer resort, no question. Both in terms of rooms and food/services.
As pointed out by IslandGrl, these islands are very different from one another, and unless you'll never leave the resort, this should be a factor in your decision.
Nevis is very quiet, STT very active.
STT has crime, Nevis doesn't.
STT has lots of shopping and restaurants, Nevis doesn't, etc.

Ted, my thinking exactly. I would choose Nevis over St. Thomas.

any shopping in Nevis???

Very little shopping in Nevis. The downtown area has interesting architecture; old, stone buildings revamped for stores, but not good for shopping excursions. We rented a car and traveled completely around the island several times, stopping in at Four Seasons. Nice grounds and beach. A "best kept" secret if you go there: an isolated beach called "Lovers Beach" is just down from the airport. No signs, just a inhospitable-looking dirt road for several hundred feet. It opens onto a beautiful and deserted beach. About a 5 minute ride from Four Seasors; definately check it out. Just ask any one if you can't find it; never ran into any unfriendly people. We prefer quiet, intimate places, so spent 9 days at the Golden Rock on Nevis; the Four Seasons was much more crowded, but not uncomfortably so. The golf course and landscaping were beautiful. If you don't want to venture out from the premises, 4 Seasons will be OK, but you'll miss some adventures. Hope you like goats...they're everywhere! Robert
