30th birthday with our friends

My wife is planning a week getaway with a few of our friends for my 30th birthday. We are looking for an island that has a good nightlife along with resonable rates for hotels. We would prefer somewhere that does not have a lot of children or cruise ship traffic. We are using an RCI time share so please let us know if you have any experience with RCI in the caribbean.

Check the Beachcomber Club out on Negril beach....great beach, lots of bars and restaurants....all walking distance. Very nice resort with spacious rooms and a great pool area with a bar and restaurant (Italian). It is an RCI resort....the only one in Negril. We checked it out our last visit....very tempting!

Oh yeah...Negril has a tendency to be more of an adult destination and the closest cruise ship port (MoBay) is over an hour away, with most going to Ocho Rios which is over 3 hours away.

You'd really enjoy Negril. We were there in May & had a great time. The grilled lobster at 3 Dives is great & the view from the cliffs at sunset is amazing. Some of our pictures look like postcards.

Try checking the message board at www.negril.com. Many locals post info there & suggestions are freely given. Do take a tour if you go. See all aspects of the area, not just the beach. Our favorite guide is Soloman Kerr of Talk of the Town Tours. His prices are great & he really takes you wherever your interests might be.
