We're trying to plan a romantic weekend getaway --any suggestions ? (Caveat -- been to St.Maarten already)

How about somewhere like Nassau, Bahamas, either Atlantis or if you're looking for something more secluded, Compass Point?

Yeah, the flight time is a bit problematice (we're coming from NYC). The Ladera resort on St. Lucia looks fab, but flying 5 hrs there and 5 hrs back sort of defeats the purpose. Bermuda may be an option.

Definitely Bermuda. Especially if you are planning to go before it cools off in October. Easy, quick flight!

Marcy I would second Compas Point on Nassau. There is an early am flight on Delta, from LaGuardia, something like 7am and you will be on the beach before noon. <BR> <BR>Have a great time.
