20th anniversary trip - where to go?
 

My husband and I are trying to decide where to go on a 20th anniversary trip in January, 2013. We want a warm climate, easy to get to from the airport, a room(or villa) right on the beach/water, easy access to restaurants and shopping, a little golf, a personal golf cart that is provided to get around in, someone to come cook our breakfast, and possibly all inclusive. Can anyone think of a place that matches this description or maybe something close? We went to the Jamaica Inn for our 10th anniversary and LOVED it! We also love the old Sea Island in Georgia. Would appreciate any suggestions!

First and foremost, budget!

Second, finding a private cook for breakfast and all inclusive are contradictions.

There are islands that you can get around by gold cart as an extra rental, but you won't find the rest of your criteria at them.

Shopping, St. Thomas and St. Martin are best

Golf, La Romana in Dominican Republic, Barbados has some nice courses.

I'm going to throw out some AI resorts that might be the equalivant to Jamaica Inn. You'll need to research them further to see if they meet your criteria/expectations.

I've been to many destinations and AI resorts and not found personal golf carts to get around in. The exception is Isla Mujeres, MX. A golf cart can be rented for touring the Island, which will take a whole 30 minutes.

A personal chef and all inclusive do not go together. It's usually one of the other. Some private villas will come with a chef and might be an added expensive built into the over all price, which may seem like an all-inclusive if that if what you are referring to.

Grand Cayman and Turks and Caicos are well known for condo units and villas. Look at VRBO

You can find golf in Jamaica, Barbados, Puerto Rico, Mexico, St. Lucia and Aruba. Aruba offers several types of golf vacation packages.

Thanks for the replies! I find myself intrigued by 1) Little Dix Bay, 2) Caneel Bay and 3) Casa De Campo. Advantages of one over the other? I welcome your thoughts!

1. Awesome resort, no golf, no real shopping, gorgeous scenery, ferries and excursions to other Virgin Islands

2. Sister property to #1, no golf (easier to get to St. Thomas with golf) a little bit of shopping, more restaurant choices, ferries to other VIs

3. One of the best golf courses in Caribbean (the scenery at the course is amazing) AI, no real shopping, not crazy about the food
