Me again.
The trip from Provo to Middle Caicos is on a fast power boat. No cats to there, too far. The day trip includes picnic on Mounjin Harbour beach, which is spectacular. Also stops at Iguana Island to see iguanas, snorkel on the reef, caves in Middle Caicos, and a stop in Dellis Cay or Ft. George for sand dollars. (Stunning beaches!) They also pass in front of Pine Cay and Parrot Cay. If I may suggest: SilverDeep or JBTours offers a beach getaway. They drop you off with food and drinks, table, chairs, etc. on the isolated beaches of Big Water Cay (Which are absolutely spectacular) you tell them how long you want to be there, they come back and get you. Another fantastic trip is with SailProvo. And it's on Catamarans!!! They take you to the reef to snorkel, stop at Iguana Island, (actual real name is Little Water Cay) and you can convince them to stop at Big Water Cay for about 1/2 hour to look for sand dollars. Big Water Cay is unbelievably gorgeous. |
blamona,
Quick question to file away for future use. Each time we saw Sail Provo there were a lot of folks on the catamaran. Do they always take out large groups? Beachgirl... Next year we hope to get to North Caicos, but I have to tell you, Middle Caicos and every person we ran into while there was delightful. We did not sail to Middle Caicos, we motored, and I do mean motored there. There were several places that the water was so shallow we had to go very slowly, however. Most of the time on the open water...we flew, and it was a riot. The salt in the air, the wind in your hair...can't beat it. Calm seas when we went. |
Beachgirl - was just wondering if you had any success with getting a response back from Mr or Mrs Moog regarding the Coriander Cottage?

ikemerson:
SailProvo does seem to fill up for their sunset cruises. I think their boats can hold around 45 people. I've only taken morning snorkel cruises with them. Each time there were 14 to 15 people on each trip. |
Chasechow: Unfortunately, Coriander Cottage on Provo was already booked -- through August, actually. We were disappointed but understand why its so popular. So, our fall-back is Royal West Indies.
Blamona & Ikemerson: Thanks for the sailing/boating info. We'll be sure to take a day excurstion of some sort. Sounds like a lot of fun. |

Also consider the Turks & Caicos Club. 21 suites, next to the reef, quiet, can walk to some restaurant (and also has one there called Simba), huge beach with lots of chairs...we loved it. Quiet and relaxing, but turn the bend and go for a walk and you'll see all the mega-condo hotels going up.
