12 nights on Great Exuma

Will be on Great Exuma, Bahamas for 12 nights at Hideaways. I'm age 64 and have a mild heart condition (several TIA's) and can't scuba dive but can do snorkeling and walking (not strenuous hiking). I would Like to rent a car and explore island, go bird watching, explore other 365 islands up the chain, etc. Enjoy taking photos of pristine scenes and whatever captures the lifestyle in out islands like Exuma. Would like best tours available. Mostly, I'm going to chill and complete a novel I'm writing. Thinking about renting a boat, but have second thoughts on that. Except for exploring the island by car, probably not a good idea to be alone in a rental boat just in case another TIA comes my way. What would be a good itinerary for 12 days, beginning November 18th? Thanks in advance.

Renting a boat is the best way to explore Exumas. Many of the awesome beaches are in cays ( little "gilligan islands". You can get a boat with a captain if you want.

There are water taxi to Stocking Island which is awesome. Club Peace and plenty one takes you to there small restaurant shack and beach. On the other side of this beach (easy walking path) there is a small plane half buried in the beach. (old drug runner?).

There is a 5 minute ferry to Chat N Chill at stocking island from downtown, do not miss pig roasts Sunday's.

Do not miss Coco Plum beach, stunning and excellent to search for sand dollars in the shallow waters.

Do not miss Tropic Of Cancer beach, it's gorgeous. Pack a lunch picnic though, it takes a while to drive to.

Do not miss at least a 1/2 day excursion by boat to Moriah Cay, duck Cay and surrounding others.

There is an excursion company that will take you all the way up to Staniel Cay and Thunderball Grotto(James bond movie filmed there, only decent snorkeling on the chain of islands) also can take you to the cay with swimming pigs

Ask around for JJ, excellent bone fisherman, featured on ESPN.

Ask around for captain Lewless, he's awesome! He can take you to the other direction of cays, and all the way to Long Island for the day. He can also take you fishing. Look him up before you go, he books p pretty fast.

rent a boat from Minns water sports and lunch at Chat N Chill, snorkel between the offshore islands.
drive to beaches at Tropic of Cancer and lunch at Santanas in Williamstown.
Saturday or Sunday drive to Rolleville and lunch on beach at Exuma Point.
Take an all day trip with Robert or Peter Burrows through the Cays, swim with sharks, see swimming pigs, see many beautiful islands.
Go fishing with Jerry Lewless.
take water taxi to St frances restaurant and walk to ocean beaches.
Hey you have not got time to finish your novel!!

Wow! Thanks for all the help. I will print this out and do these things. Yeah, I should have time to write my novel, too. It's called "The Penumbra Database". I sent publishers to the site to check out the first five chapters. Thanks again, all!!! Robert
