Your favourite furniture stores in the GTA?
Doing some house renos and have discovered that there are not a ton of good furniture stores anymore or, maybe, I just don't know where they are! Can you recommend any in the GTA? Looking for classic, with maybe a touch of contemporary.

Ethan Allen? (or Allan?)
It's been a while since I;ve been inside one, but I remember comfortable furniture from my past. And DeBoers, out in Mississauga. BAK |
I went to check out DeBoers yesterday but they were closed. The Art Shoppe is one I have not been to in awhile. Ethan Allen...we have furniture from there..looking for a style that they presently do not have..thanks all!

We bought chairs from a store called Artifex. They used to be in the Distillery district, but have moved - I think they might be on Mount Pleasant now. They have wonderful upholstered furniture (we got leather), but the really beautiful furniture is wood, handcrafted by the owner who is Japanese. Their dining room tables are gorgeous, unfortunately beyond my price range! You can find them on the web.

Johnson's GH Trading Co. doesn't even advertise because they don't need to. Great items at great prices. It's at 950 Dupont St in Toronto. They have everything from traditional to modern.
If it's loft furnishings you're after, R Shop is cool, as is EQ3 |
After I posted I went back and reread your description. Whitby has a fantastic store with exactly what you're looking for. It's called Rousseau Heritage House. Not sure of the spelling. They have many display rooms set up amazingly so it's a delight to just go look around.

A Special Place on Yonge Street, a block north of Davisville (and other locations - I thought there was only one) http://www.aspecialplace.ca/

There's a furniture store on Dupont, north side, just near what? Ossington maybe? It has no sign on it but it's a person's name. Maybe someone else will know.
Do you mean that DeBoer's was closed for the day or closed closed? Because the one on Yonge north of Sheppard is certainly still there. Try Decorium too. |
