Your favorite Victoria restaurants

I will be in Victoria for a short trip - all day Thursday thru Friday afternoon. Staying the night at Laurel Point Inn.

Would you share your favorite restaurants? We aren't vegetarians, don't love sushi, enjoy steaks, seafood, Italian, Greek, breakfast joints, etc. Any suggestings ranging from budget to pricy is okay by me!

Thanks for your help, once again...

Pescatore's is the best seafood in my opinion. If you love seafood you must eat there. It is somewhat pricey but the servings are huge.

Whoops replied to your question and lost it so here goes again.

For breakfast we love John's place

For Italian Il Terrazzo http://www.ilterrazzo.com/

and for a really wonderful restaurant serving more variety Cafe Brio http://www.cafe-brio.com/

I also agree for seafood Pescatore's is excellent. http://www.pescatores.com/

Enjoy!!

I agree with the suggestions so far, and would add Brasserie L'ecole--I had a very good steak frites there on my last visit.

Good consensus on this thread! Cafe Brio at the top for me -- all-round great blend of West Coast/Italian/French touches. Il Terrazzo for Italian as well, although I prefer its outside terrace in summer to eating inside. Zambri, too, although ambience-challenged. Definitely Brasserie L'Ecole for French, also Matisse.

Another vote for Il Terrazzo, if it's not too late. They have patio heaters so you can eat outside if it's not raining or truly cold.

We loved the Indian buffet in the Bengal Lounge at the Empress Hotel. There is meat on it but I think you can easily have a meatless meal. It's a small but high-quality selection and not too expensive (I think it was about $28 pp and there was a 'death by chocolate' dessert buffet for a further $12.

Thanks everyone...

These ideas were just what I was looking for. I started with tripadvisor.com, see a lot of concurrence with your picks. I'm eager to try John's Place - got hungry just reading their site.

I love having first-hand knowledge from people in the know.

Thanks again...

We just got back from visiting family in BC, and went to Victoria for a couple of days. We met friends for dinner at Niche, and it was wonderful. I'd really recommend it.

LV,

Have dined at ~Pablo's~, French cuisine before. We enjoyed very much. Located at Inner Harbor on Quebec St.

Francie,

Pablo's is, alas, gone, replaced by Niche: www.nichedining.com.
