Would my two teen boys enjoy Quebec City?

We are planning to go to Quebec City in the fall for a long weekend. We have two teen boys 13 and 17. Will they enjoy it? Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Your sons will not appreciate Quebec City unless they enjoy the non-American way of life where people actually walk the street, women dress beautifully, etc. Depends on their upbringing.

Jan- Don't be scared off on your plans to go to Quebec City... A visit for your boys will offer them a small taste of european lifestyle, saving you the question of whether to take them to Europe... You may have to jazz-up your agenda by adding a bus or water tour, but at the age of 13 and 17, they should be ready for the outdoor cafes, street performers and people watching mixed with a small dose of history... my kids loved it because it was so different than their lives... have fun!

Here are somme things the boys would like - The Citadelle is a very impressive old fort just outside the old city. There is also a changing of the guard ceremony done, very much like London's. There are usually street entertainers in the area near the boardwalk of the old city. A short ride from downtown is Montmorecy (sp?) Falls, a spectacular waterfall right off the highway. <BR>Your boys will have a ball!

Thanks, everyone for the advice. Even though they're kids, they are interested in history, battles, etc. The Citadelle sound like a great place to tour. And of course, the Chateau Frontenac which looks like a castle. I've been researching on the Internet and read that Montmorency Falls has a walkway right across the top, which sounds cool, especially if it's a little scary. Maybe Mom will be scared, this could be fun! We could also go to the revolving restaurant on top of the Loewes Concorde. I think hearing another language spoken and the differences in cuisine will be intriquing. I hope. Thank God my older son is usually willing to try something new. We've always travelled well together, so I think it will be okay. They're approaching that age when it just won't be fun to travel with the parents anymore, so we treasure these last trips with them.
