Whistler summer prices/ hotel occupancy rates

I will bein Whistler for 2 days mid July. I have been trying to get a hotel through Priceline, using Bidding for travel as a reference on pricing. My bids have been turned down consistently for resort and 4 star hotels. Am I taking a risk if I wait and book closer to July? Do the hotels fill in there in July? ANy recommendations on a nice place?

Whistler in Summer is now almost as busy as mid winter and the room rates will reflect this. About the only 'off season' would be mid-April to mid-June and mid-Septrember to mid -November and even those areas can be busy if there is unusual early or late snow.

I agree with Gary about our "off season" or "low season". July can be really busy, especially during Canada Day (July 1st) and the US July 4th times. I am not familier with Priceline but there are so many accomodation options here you should find something in your budget but if Priceline is "last minute booking" I wouldn't recommend it. Hope you enjoy Whistler.

How much are you bidding? You can get a good rate at the Pan Pacific hotel for mid July for CDN $209.00. This is for a one bedroom suite in a top location in Whistler. This is a very reasonable rate for a four star hotel. Here's a link to the hotel.<BR>http://www.panpac.com/canada/whistle...rt/resort.html

We stayed at the Delta Whistler last July, which is located in the village. We got a 2-bedroom suite for about $140 (Cdn) by buying an Entertainment Book for about $15.00 and then making reservations about 2 weeks ahead by calling the hotel and getting the Entertainment book price. You can go to www.entertainment.com to buy a 2003 book for Vancouver/Vancouver Island, which is now discounted. If the website doesn't provide the specific hotel listings for Whistler, just call the Delta and ask them whether they would give the Entertainment discount. If so, go ahead and book your room and then buy the book. Have fun!
