Whistler in September

Whistler seems to be a ski resort. Is it worth a visit for a middle aged couple mid September without too much time to spare?

Four couples (all of us middle aged) spent a July week in Whistler. We loved it. We did a different hike nearly every day, went rafting and had great meals (thank you, Whistler Al for all the good advice). Nice place. We stayed at the Edgewater Lake resort slightly out of town. Not glam, but comfy and great views. Very good food there, too.

Hi Whistler can be great in Sept. You have a 50/50 chance on weather, but no snow yet. It can actually be quite hot at this time of year. Whistler has it's own little micro climate, when its 25 degrees in Vancouver it could be 35 in Whistler.

Lots to see and do in Whistler in the fall and the weather in September can be lovely. Just take some fleece to layer when you take the lift up the mountain. We stayed 3 nights and could have lingered on ..

We stayed at Horstman House -- quiet, nicely appointed and on the shuttle line if you don't want to drive/walk down to the village.

Also for a memorable dinner try Rim Rock Cafe -- reservations recommended on the weekend.
