Hi Melissa, I went for a weekend in mid-March last year and it was fantastic--sunny, with tons of snow. But then last year was a record-breaking one, snowfall-wise. Generally, I would say mid-March is a good time to go, but there is always the risk of rain instead of snow here in the Pacific NW!

Hi Melissa,

Usually the weather is a bit milder in March than in Jan-Feb. As Sheri said, we had good skiing conditions in '99, and this season looks to be a repeat of the last.

Discount tickets start on March 20 ($35 Cdn not incl. tax) and carry through till June 9. You should be able to get some sort of discount even without buying a skier card.

As Whistler is unpredictable, it may be too mild for snow, in which case you may get rain. But if you take a chance, odds are you'll be pleasantly surprised!

Regards,
Sherman
Hi Melissa, mid March is a great time of year to ski in Whistler. The weather is usually warm & mild & the snow is soft packed. With some luck you may get some sunshine too (like today).
If you would like any information on reasonably priced accommodations at Whistler in March, email me directly & I'll be happy to help you out!

I also plan on skiing in Whistler/Blackcomb in 2 weeks. I have skied there before and got cheap lift tickets at a grocery store in North Vancouver. Does anyone know if I can still do this. Where can I get discount lift tickets for W/B? I plan on skiing 3 or 4 days...Thanks

Paul, I always stop at the 7/11 in Squamish on the way up to Whistler for my discount lift tickets (it's next to the McDonalds; turn left at the main stoplight to enter). I was up there two weeks ago and the discounted daily price was $53 CDN plus GST, vs. $61 plus GST at the mountain. We did the math and even for four days, you're still better off getting the 7/11 tickets rather than the multi-day from the mountain. Have fun!

One more thought--you may want to check the mountain's lift ticket rates for late March/early April--I think they go down at some point. So the discounted tickets may or may not be a better deal.
