Whistler Delta Village Suite or Pan Pacific Village?

Whistler Delta Village Suite or Pan Pacific Village?
Planning on visiting Whistler around the end of July and the Delta Village Suites and the new Pan Pacific Village Centre both are offering good packages. Does anyone have any recommendation on either one? I will be travelling with spouse and 2 smaller boys.
Pan Pacific is offering $159 for 1 BR suite which incl. daily breakfast and Delta Village is around $120 for a room which incl PR.
Also, does Whistler have any affordable public parking? as hotel are charging around $20/day.

I found the Delta Suites to be disappointing when compared to the other Delta (which is now called something else). The room I had was very small - I would never call it a real suite but it did have a small kitchenette. I found the walls in the Delta to be very thin and it was quite loud. I would tend to go with the Pan, even though it's not yet achieved a track record, being so new.
I have never found much affordable parking at Whistler if you are staying overnight. Hotel parking is always a rip off at Whistler. Maybe Whistler Al can post with an idea for you.

Hi Babalu, Without a doubt, stay at the new Pan. It is a beautiful new hotel. Parking costs the same or less than you would pay at a city hotel. There aren't any cheaper alternatives, and I believe the Pan parking is secured. Right up the street from the Pan are Sushi Village and Umburto Trattoria, two of our favorite restaurants. Cheers, Al

Thanks for everyone's reponses. I'm also inclined towards the Pan but since we're looking at $200/night once we add tax and PR, my 'better' half is inclined towards a private 4 yr old Condo in the Market Village area at half that price.

Abram might be mixed up. The Pan Pacific Whistler Village hasn't opened yet, but is now scheduled to open on July 15. We're arriving there July 21, and have our fingers crossed.
Have you called them specifically? Our rate originally wasn't to include breakfast (to my knowledge) but after talking with them on the phone it now does. We're paying $302, but for an upper floor 2 bedroom, 2 bath suite, which also now includes full breakfast and afternoon snacks.

Patrick, the original Pan Pacific is a block away and is 8 years old. The new Pan will be even nicer than the old Pan. Babalu, I don't know of any four year old condos in the village. What is the name of the complex that the condo is in? Some of the condos in the village can be pretty beat up. make sure the one you are in has been renovated recently. Northstar is the best complex , with a good pool and hot tub, and walking distance to everything. Cheers, Al

Hi WhistlerAl, the condo that I've been looking into is at Glacier's Reach. Since we're only staying two nights, the rate is $130 which incl PR. So a difference of approx $60/night after you factor in taxes & PR, but at the Pan we'll get breakfast also.
I am watching my finances so I'd also like to get the best value for money spent.

Hi Patrick, I went ahead and booked the Pan Pacific Village for Jul 15th at their introductory rate of $159. However, ours is a 1 BR located on the lower floors. I have my fingers crossed too since this is their first offical day of being opened.

We're booked into the Pan Pacific Whistler Mountainside on Sundial Cres. Has anyone stayed there? WhistlerAl, thanks for the restaurant recommendations for lunch/dinner. Do you have any recommendations for breakfast. As far as I know our rate does not include breakfast. I also remember reading in a review about a restaurant above the McDonald's in Whistler that someone raved about - a small family owned restaurant with reasonable prices and homecooked meals. Any idea?
