Where to Eat & Drink in Vancouver!

We will be in Vancouver for a couple days…where do you recommend we eat and drink? We LOVE food! :) Ask for Luigi is on my list. And I think we'll be staying at the Burrard.

Depends of course on your budget, but for casual food there is a plethora of food truck in your area to try of various ethnic types,

We can splurge at least a couple times on the trip!

I enjoyed The Flying Pig in Yaletown.

I also enjoyed The Beach House in West Vancouver. I really don't remember much about the food but enjoyed the waterfront location with outdoor seating - very nice.

You may want to try Street Meet at the Friday night market down by the Lonsdale quay. I love their risotto balls and lamb burgers.

Wilf, thank you! Sounds delicious!

Also considering Vij's, farmers apprentice, the parlour, kingyo or bao bei. also, anyone have thoughts on whether hawksworth is worth the $$?

immimi Jul 23rd, 2015 06:20 AM

JMO, but I thought Hawksworth was somewhat pretentious and a tad too food-forward for us. V. trendy and certainly pricey.

Vij's is fun - no rez so get there before it opens (at 5:30 IIR). There are restos every three feet in the Downtown core so you should have no prob. getting a decent meal.

Cactus Club on the waterfront by the Olympic Torch is view central; not gourmet by any means, but a great place to sit in the sun or inside looking out towards Stanley Park. V. popular.

During your stay in Vancouver, you should try at least once drinking at Lost and Found Cafe. It's the best cafe in Vancouver! Nice and simple design with spacious atmosphere. For $10 you can get a generous soup and sandwich. Each sandwich is put on the most amazing bun which comes in one of 5 varieties including feta/spinach, and others that I could hardly decide between. Actually it is more than a bun, more like a mix between a buttermilk biscuit and a really artisan cheese bun.
