What's in Nova Scotia

We are thinking about visiting Nova Scotia.
Don't know anything about it.
What is there to do and see there?
We love sightseeing and learning different things about places we visit.
We are two active senior citizens.
Any information will be very much appreciated.

Start by going to the government of Nova Scotia's website:
http://explore.gov.ns.ca/
My personal favorites are:
the city of Halifax
Peggy's Cove
the Cabot Trail on Cape Breton
fortress of Louisburg on Cape Breton

You can also click on "Destinations" on the Fodor's Home Page & follow the links to Halifax for additional info.
What time of year are you thinking of visiting NS? Will you be driving or flying? Where do you live?

There's tons to do! Learn about Acadien culture northwest of Halifax and in Cheticamp, see a reconstructed Scottish village at Highland Village in Iona, visit the Titanic and Halifax explosion exhibits at the maritime museum in Halifax, tour the French equivalent of Williamsburg at Louisbourg, attend the world-renowned Scottish Tatoo (concert) in Halifax, drive and hike the scenic Cabot Trail on Cape Breton Island, listen to live Celtic music all over, attend the largest Highland Games outside Scotland in Antigonish, etc., etc. For lots more information, request the fabulous Doer's and Dreamer's Guide at www.destination-ns.com

You should also visit the SOuth Shore ( south of Halifax). The towns of Lunenberg, Chester and Mahone Bay are lovely.
