What to do in Vancouver end of March

We are travelling to Vancouver the last weekend in March and wanted to do something more than the usual kicking around Gastown/South Granville that we normally do.
Reading the various existing links makes me want to go to UBC Antrho museum.

But any festivals/events to let us know about, or must see neighborhoods, would be greatly appreciated...

Hi, Here are some other suggestions. Granville Island. You can take a water taxi across to beach ave near Denman St. Stanley Park cycle around the sea wall if weather is good. West 10th towards UBC or kits. also the area around west 4th between burrard and Mcdonald. West 8th between Mcdonald and Alma. White Rock beach pier and Promanade. Steveston village which is part of Richmond. It has great fish and chips. West Vancouver shopping along Marine drive. Visit the wineries in Langley, Township 7 and Domaine de Chaberton. Take in a play at the Arts Club theatre on granville Island. Take the sea bus over to North Vancouver's Lonsdale quay. Go to Aberdeen mall in Richmond you'll think your in Hong Kong. Take the ferry over to Bowen island have lunch or dinner at Blue Eyed Mary's. The museum of Anthropology is at U.B.C. the UBC botatical gardens are just down the road ,also Jericho beach and Spanish banks are close by too.

What does Gastown offer?

Hi cd, Gastown is basically a cobblestone street that has a steamclock on one corner. It used to have some ecclectic shops but not really anymore. I'd go for a stroll there if you were close by but I wouldn't go out of my way to see it. This is where the city of Vancouver started.

Thanks weasel.

Have you seen the Storeum (execrable spelling) in Gastown? It's fairly new. Takes you on an adventure through time using live actors...from the beginnings of the First Nations to the transcontinental railroad. Very well done. A certain amount of walking, from scene to scene, but when we were there everyone seemed able to handle it.
