Whale watching from Vancouver

As the newest member of this wonderful site I am seeking some advice as regards whale watching during our short stay in Vancouver during September this year. We are from the UK and will be visiting Canada for this first time and we want to include numerous adventures during our stay, whale watching is one that does appeal to us. We would like some advice on companies and venues in which to achieve our goal. Many thanks

Try this link from the Tourism Vancouver website. If it doesn't work, follow "things to do", "adventure" and "whale watching".

Would you possibly be able to spend a few days away from Vancouver? Northern Vancouver Island in Sept offers very good whale [mainly killer whales] and other wildlife watching opprtunities.

cheers

There are 2 local Whale Watching operations that cross the Strait of Georgia to see the Orca pods.

http://whalesvancouver.com/ leaves from downtown

http://www.vancouverwhalewatch.com/ leaves from the nearby village of Steveston

Given that you have little time I suggest the Granville Island option.

I'm now advised that the Steveston operation has a shuttle from downtown-which might suit.
