Waterton National Park - Hotels
We are staying in Waterton in June for three days and are trying to sort accommodation. I have come across so much conflicting views and reports on Hotels in the area I have no idea where to book. Any recommemdations anyone? Has anyone stayed at The Waterton Lakes Resort?
Thank you

I have stayed there, when it was new, although it isn't all that old now, about 10 years or so. It was a lovely place, the rooms are comfortable but can become warm as at the time I was there, there was no a/c, only fans. They didn't have cable tv either if that matters, I would ask. I was working for the owners at the time and they put me up in the 1 bed deluxe.
I have also stayed at the Bayshore which is your everyday older motel (nothing wrong with it but nothing special either although I would wager it is a good deal cheaper) and at the Kilmorrey which I really like as well but it isn't new however well maintained. The waterton Glacier Suites are another option but I haven't stayed there.
The Kilmorrey has a really good restaurant, better than the Bayshore but also more expensive.
However, depending on chefs, this can change from season to season.
Waterton is a very small village, you can walk from one end to the other in a short time so all of the motels have proximity to the lake and the falls and are not too far from the golf course and some great hiking.

We were in Waterton in September. we stayed at the Crandell Mountain Lodge which was ok - no more. I posted a review on tripadvisor under the same screen name.
If we went again I really don't know where we would stay. We had breakfast at the Kilmorrey and thought it was just a bit odd - difficult to put my finger on why.
The Bayshore gets a lot of bus tour parties plus some rowdiness from the bars I believe.
I sympathise with your dilemma. I'm not convinced I can strongly recommend anywhere!

We really loved our stay at Kilmorey, and would go back in a heartbeat. We stayed in a little room with a great bed, ate breakfast and dinner at the restaurant. It's "quaint," I guess -- so if you want something really spacious and ultra modern, this wouldn't be the place. For us, it was heaven.

In years past I have stated at the Aspen Windflower Motel in the town of Waterton and at Shintangle Sprints B and B just north of the park entrance.
Although Shintangle Springs has changed owners recently, the basic building has not. The B and B is a purpose built enterprise in that the bedrooms are in a separate wing of the house and connected directly to the breakfast area.
If you want some peace and quiet, I recommend investigating Shintangle Springs.
We have been there three times and would go back were we visiting Waterton again.
