Victoria to Seattle Airport With a Car

Hi -- We're debating the best way to get from Victoria, B.C. to the Seattle Airport with our rental car. Looks like options are the Washington State ferry, Sidney to Anacortes, drive to Seattle; B.C. ferry from Victoria to Port Angeles, drive to Seattle; or Victoria to Tsawassan. We want to maximize our time in Victoria, but don't want to be too stressed out if we leave in the morning & fly out that evening. Any opinions as to which would best accomplish this? thanks!

while the drive is alittle longer if u take the aCoho to port angeles, the Coho is less stressful than dealing w/ BC ferries. thhe ferry from Sydney to Anacortes is also nice as u go through the San Juans. Clearing US Immigration at either Port Angeles or Anacortes is a whole lot easier than at Peace Arch/ Pacific Crossing f u go via Tsawassan

we cross peace arch often - live in BC family in Seattle. The border crossing can be upwards of 3 hours at certain times in the summer so would suggest avoiding it if you are trying to catch a plane

Just in case you don't know, the Seattle airport is on the far side of Seattle, and may be farther than you think.Plus, you need to drive through seattle traffic, albeit on a good highway.

Personally I think you're better off to go as a walk-on from Seattle to Victoria via the Clipper. They offer day trips to Victoria on their website – clippervacations.com

We would (go as walk-ons) if we were going from Seattle, but are arriving from Vancouver. We're there for a conference for several days prior, and are adding Victoria to the end of that trip. Thanks for all the input...good reminder about crossing the border into the U.S...I've sat in that line before!

if u r coming from vancouver, you can take pacific coast bus from downtown onto the ferry and into downtown victoria, the ferry crossing is beautiful. in summer there r naturalists on th rear deck. if u wanted a car in victoria u could just rent here and then thke the victoria clipper back to the usa as foot passangers ( actualyy the onlky option)
