Victoria hotels
 

I am travelling with my daughter to Vancouver Island in July and staying in Qualicum Beach. We are planning to take an overnight trip to Victoria on the train and are looking for accomodation near the train station in Victoria since we won't have a car. Any suggestions for a neat place?

Swan's Hotel is right across the street.

The Empress Hotel is really nice. It has a great location too.

The Empress is very, very expensive. There are other lovely hotels by the harbour that are much less expensive but probably lack the ambiance of the Empress. However, unless you are quite well off, I would not stay at the Empress. Having only been to Vic. a couple of times, I am not sure how close any of these are to the train station. They are right on the the Harbour however and within walking distance of a good number of very interesting places/sites. Good luck

The Victoria Regent Hotel is also near the train station. The back of the hotel faces the harbour... and so you pay for it.
