Was there in Oct and we stayed at the Surf Motel and loved it - not on inner harbor but right on the water where the cruise ships come in
opened drapes in the am - and ocean right there plus great walking trail along the ocean - Each room has a small kitchenette too - not a high end property - but that's where I plan to stay from now on |
Thank you for your suggestions.

Hi marilynb7- we stayed at the Laurel Point Inn, in the Erickson Wing and I just can't speak highly enough about it. Staff was superb. Believe or not, our favorite meals in BC were at their restaurant, Aura. The location is easy walking distance to the center of Victoria, but it is somewhat removed and very peaceful. They do have rooms in the Laurel Wing if contemporary is not your style, however, I found them to be a little tired.
I also found the Empress to be tired when we had a meal there. http://www.laurelpoint.com/ |
We stayed at Abigail's a couple years ago and absolutely loved it. The hotel itself was very nice, yet not pretentious at all. The location was great. It was a short walk to the inner harbour area, maybe 5 minutes. Beacon Hill Park was just about 2 blocks away as well. The breakfast plan there is quite good, and the room looks out to the mountains. I would absolutely stay here again:)

Inn at Laurel Point, Erickson wing, would be my first choice.
