With the Sheraton Le Soleil, you'd probably be more central. It's only a short (2 minute?) walk away from Robson Street, Pacific Center Mall, the Art Gallery, etc.

The Westin Grand is next to the Vancouver Library, south of Gastown, and north of Yaletown. It's on the eastern end of Robson Street. Robson runs east-west, and on the eastern side, it's mostly office buildings, condos and small cafes. As you head further west, it becomes much more lively, with all the main brand name stores and trendy restaurants (the place to see and be seen). Further west it becomes a bit more quiet as many of the city's hotels are located there (ie: the Listel, the Pacific Palisades, etc), and then further east it's strictly residential with condos and apartments. The very end of Robson Street is Lost Lagoon in Stanley Park.

You'll be at the eastern side of Robson.
The Sheraton Le Soleil is near the "see and be seen" part of Robson.

I've heard great things about the Sheraton Le Soleil, but not great things about their views (as they're located between Vancouver's office buildings). Then again, all you'd have to do is exit the building and look down the road, and you'd have your mountain/water view.

All in all it's a tough decision as both hotels have great things going for them!

Robyn..Thank You. It is now between the Sheraton and Wedgewood. When we lived in BC 30 years ago..Le Soleil was not there but I always loved the Wedgewood. It's hard to pass up a corner 450 sq. ft. suite though. Any comments on Lumiere and Provence Mediterranean Grill?
There are two Provence restaurants both
owned by the same couple. The newest
one is Provence Marinaside in False
Creek and it is great! Both places
have terrific provencal food but the
new one is a little more upscale in
decor. Also has a water view and a
terrace.

Lumiere is in a class of its own!
If you're a foodie it is the place to
go - v. creative menu by 'the' chef
in Vancouver, Rob Feenie. Tres cher!

Both need reservations...
Bon appetit!
